In Game Creator, players can create their own 2D platforming levels that can be accessed from that device at anytime. However, while the game had potential and was unlike any other game on the site, it was eventually dropped for more exciting projects. This game also acts as an unofficial sequel to the Scratch game of the same name.
In Create Mode, players can place platforms, blocks, balls, and walls anywhere in the level by clicking and dragging from the menu at the bottom. Players can also change the color of their created objects and the background using the color menu (drag and drop the appropriate color). Players can also select the music that plays during their level. Later, a grid was added to help refine levels.
In Play Mode, players can test out their created level in a 2D platformer style. They control a red ball, similar to the one featured in Roll-a-Ball and Block Bomb Survival, and can jump (using SPACE) and roll back and forth (using A and D or the ARROW keys). Players can also reload at any time.
Game Creator was developed late in the school year to experiment with level creation tools. It was originally planned to be a full game, complete with a simple story mode featuring levels made using the same level creation tools available to the player. In Create Mode, players would be able to place dangerous obstacles, enemies, and even checkpoints to their liking. However, time constraints and other projects cut Game Creator's production short.
A partial inspiration for Game Creator was a Scratch game of the same name. Knowing that a level creation "game" was possible with tools as simple as Scratch, the idea that a much more complex and interesting level creator using Unity was very appealing. Work on this project began quickly after the game was conceptualized, but production only lasted around a month.
