Poly
Fullscreen

Jack's latest legendary multiplayer sensation hits the website! Battle against other players and bots in real time as you fight your way to the top of the leaderboard!

Use WASD to move and use the ARROW keys to rotate. The goal of the game is to get as many kills as possible without dying.

You can gain mass by picking up the particles scattered around the map. The more mass you have, the more hits you can take, and the more sides you will have. However, if you get hit in your weak spot, you die instantly.

There are also various parts that you can pick up. You can pick up as many parts as you have sides. Parts include short ranged spikes, long ranged snipers, speedy jets, and shields.

The concept for Poly was originally created late in May of 2016 under the name 'Beast'. It featured polygon-like creatures with various numbers of sides, where each side could have some sort of weapon. Jack decided to take on the project solo for a while, but it was dropped early in development due to difficulties with networking and several major refactors. Jack later picked up the project again around when Flickship was developed, but it was again dropped for unknown reasons. Finally, following the release of Swipe and Shoot Remastered, Jack resumed work on Poly and the game quickly took off. Several early versions were put up on Jack's own site at playpoly.online, and the final version was released early in the summer of 2018.

  • The first parts added to the game were the jet and the cannon, which were working even in the game's early stages.
  • When it was first being developed, the game was made in close competition with Nathan's Rival and Joseph's dungeon.io. Eventually, all three games faded into obscurity, but when Poly resurfaced in 2018, its chief "competition" was Multiplayer Madness Remastered.
  • Nathan was commissioned to write music for the game, but he was too lazy and never finished.
  • Jack actually runs the Poly server on his computer, which is why the game is often inaccessible.
  • The Poly AI creatures are much dumber than they seem.
