The original gaming phenomenon that took the website to a whole new level. This old school sensation features classic endless-runner style gameplay and a simple goal: hit as many targets as possible!
Players dodge incoming obstacles using A and D or the ARROW keys, and use the mouse to click and shoot targets. Each second survived gives 1,000 points, and each target hit gives 10,000 points. As the player progresses, the game increases in speed with no limit. Once the player dies, they are scored using their base score (calculated at the top right), what level they reached (how many gates they passed through), and their accuracy. In the original, after getting 1,000,000 points in normal mode, players unlock Hardcore mode, which is significantly faster.
Target Practice was originally developed during an extra-long volleyball game tournament under the name 'Shoot the Badguy'. In the game, players would shoot flat cutouts of people with a laser. This was scrapped for an endless runner game style, and the cutouts were replaced with circular targets, and eventually square targets to simplify collisions. And as these changes manifested, the game known as Target Practice was created.
Target Practice took only around a week to complete, due to its relatively simple concept and art style. After the first version's release and success, borders were added to add more contrast to the bland environment.
